It is now the turn of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg to surprise the world with a gin unlike any other: Gin Sul. It is produced in the distillery Altonaer Spirituosen Manufaktur and exudes the unique aromas of labdanum, which is a plant found at the west coast of Portugal. You will also detect the typical notes of fine juniper, rosemary, rose blossoms and lemon peel. The gin is filled into bottles of white clay that keep the drink safe from incidence of light and temperature fluctuation. When you drink it with a nice tonic water, ice cubes and a lemon peel zest, you will experience the special feeling of Saudade - a Portuguese equivalent of nostalgic yearning, which Gin Sul celebrates to its fullest!

This Absinthe is based on a recipe from 1889. It has a dark green color, the taste is flowerish with significant notes of green anise and hints of vanilla. It is distilled with wine alcohol, what gives this Absinthe a brandy like smell. Overall a pretty good French Absinthe.
