Made with 39 botanicals, including wormwood and star anise. The abundant scents extracted from herbs, spices, fruits, and vegetables result in a very complex flavor. Absinthe has a long history and is said to be have begun as a medicinal elixir. The medicinal term “kusushiki” means mysterious or strange, and fits the image of absinthe as a mysterious spirit that has captured the attention of artists and writers across cultures. After several attempts, we finally succeeded in producing absinthe for the first time. The wormwood is even grown directly adjacent to our distillery, completely fertilizer-free and pesticide-free. The bottles have also been adapted from medicine bottles to prevent harmful UV ways from affecting the spirit. We hope you will enjoy trying the mysterious flavor of Akayane Absinthe Kusushiki 2018.
